Bella has really been drinking MUCH less formula and I am worried. We have an appt. w/the doctor on the 15th, but I am not sure if I should call sooner, or if she is just going through a phase. She is eating solids; so far she eats sweet potatoes, bananas, peaches, peas, carrots, and applesauce (and of course rice cereal). Lately, it is a chore and a half to get her to drink her bottle though. She wiggles around, looks everywhere (which is all normal for her age), but hardly drinks. This morning when I went to put her down for her nap she drank a little and then got fussy. She ALWAYS wants to fall asleep with her bottle...so this is all new. Uuuggh! I know she won't starve, but I am worried. Is this normal?

OMG Dawn I just found this blog!! Congratulations, congratulations!! I am so happy for you and Joe. Bella is just a little poppet. You won't remember me but I followed your blog in Kaz and was devastated for you guys the adoptions did not work out. We have a bio daughter age 9 and our Orin is age 4 and adopted from Almaty in 2006.
ReplyDeleteThis news has just made my day - Bella is truly beautiful - she looks like a Gerber baby!!
For what it is worth when my kids started solids they both cut back greatly on bottles/liquids. As long as she is not getting dehydrated or appears to be loosing weight I would not stress (says me the mam who brought my daughter to the Dr., when she was 18 months old because she existed only on cheerios and milk - the Dr., god bless him weighed her, measured her and she had put on 2 lbs in the previous month.........i am sure he had seen 100's of mams like me before but was nice enough to check her out - and finally he said mam - do NOT WORRY!!)
I shall come back and visit your blog again to see the adventures of Bella!!
Congrats! Bella is a beautiful cherub! I wouldn't worry about the bottle thing. She is very healthy and quite the precious little chunk. Now that she is eating more solids she is bound to cut back on her formula. I am sure the doctor will give you peace of mind. Enjoy yor first Thanksgiving with your little girl.
